SteamVR tracking technology
The HTC VIVE 2.0 base station raises the bar for the VR industry by introducing enhancements for SteamVR tracking technology. Laser devices scan the room 100 times per second to detect the photon sensors embedded in the glasses and controllers.
This allows the position of VR devices to be detected with sub-millimetre accuracy, without the risk of being obscured by other objects.
Increased range and field of view
The new single-rotor design provides a wider field of view and increased range. Now, with one base station, you have a 200% larger working area than previous generations.
Add a second and third base station to cover inaccessible areas of the room. And if you need even more space, add a fourth base station, extending the virtual area to 10x10 metres.
More compatibility
By standardising the laser tracking code and eliminating the omni-directional pulse beacon, the HTC VIVE base station does not interfere with your other infrared devices and provides better tracking quality than 3D cameras or motion capture systems.
