Upgrade your gear for an over-equipped Quest 2

The Oculus Quest was a game-changer in wireless virtual reality. It offered new experiences to enthusiasts and new opportunities to developers/companies, while bringing immersive gaming to the general public worldwide.

It was a daring gamble for Meta (ex-Facebook in 2020) to launch a headset that was so accessible in terms of price and so qualitative for a stand-alone.

The technical characteristics

The Quest 2 incorporates a series of innovations to power VR games and experiences by featuring a revolutionary all-in-one form factor powered by the "Oculus Insight" tracking system.

In 2020, it was a multi-generational leap in processing power with :
  • Qualcomm Snapdragon XR2 processor offering high AI capabilities for the time.
  • 6GB of RAM
  • A display offering 1832 x 1920 pixels per eye (50% more pixels than the first generation)
  • Capable of supporting 90 Hz

The headset's shortcomings and how to fix them?

The Meta Quest second generation is an excellent headset but it has its little flaws, especially in terms of comfort. In addition, the accessories that come with the Quest 2 generally do not add any intrinsic value to the overall user experience. But we're here to fix them and make your immersive experiences more enjoyable:

An uncomfortable strap

Yes, this is the major flaw of this device, the strap that comes by default in simple fabric is not comfortable at all. It's difficult to get the right position on your head and any sudden movements will throw off the initial adjustment.

As a result, you may have tried to adjust the strap as tightly as possible with maximum pressure on the face, causing redness and extreme discomfort. For some people, the headband and facial foam sometimes restrict frontal blood flow, causing headaches when the helmet is worn for a long time.

👉 Solution: indulge in a higher quality replacement strap with better counterbalance that reduces tension on the cheeks, forehead and neck.

Facial interface and hard foam

The original foam padding is too tight and rough for the face, which can hurt the temples and forehead.

👉 Solution: with a new facial interface and softer padding (VR Cover like) with soft material (simili, lycra), you will feel almost no pressure. The advantages are many:

  • Better hygiene and easy cleaning
  • Reduces light leakage thanks to the nose cover
  • Prevents skin irritation for people with sensitive skin

Battery management

Managing battery life is a daily struggle, as we all know, and we are already used to recharging our smartphone every day or so.

👉 Solution: To overcome this charging issue, we suggest a laison cable to power the battery while playing.
