Improved Comfort and Adaptability (Eye Tracking)
HTC has also focused on ergonomics and ease of use. The automatic interpupillary distance (IPD) adjustment and the integrated eye tracking allow quick headset sharing between users, ensuring a consistently sharp view. This system is particularly well-suited for environments with frequent user turnover, such as training centers or VR arcades.
In terms of comfort, the VIVE Focus Vision features an improved cooling system and a swappable battery with a backup sub-battery, providing up to 20 additional minutes of power during battery replacement. This enables extended sessions without interruption.
Mixed Reality Technology
The headset is equipped with two 16 MP stereo front cameras that enable color passthrough, providing a realistic perception of the outside environment, which is crucial for mixed reality applications. With a 120° field of view (FOV) and a combined 5K resolution, every detail is rendered with precision. The headset also supports a 90 Hz refresh rate, with an update planned for 2024 to offer up to 120 Hz via DisplayPort mode.
